Since 2016, I have dedicated myself to the field of Behavioral Sleep Medicine, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). Recognized by the American College of Physicians as the first-line treatment for chronic insomnia disorder, CBT-I is a short term, non-medication approach that has demonstrated effectiveness comparable to sleep medications, with more durable results and without the associated side effects.
My specialized training encompasses evidence-based strategies that address the behaviors, thoughts, and emotions perpetuating insomnia. This comprehensive approach not only enhances sleep quality but also helps manage stressors and co-occurring challenges such as anxiety or depression.
To ensure the highest standard of care, I engage in ongoing education and participate in weekly consultations with fellow specialists in behavioral sleep medicine. As an active member of both the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, I remain committed to providing you with the most current and effective treatments for your sleep concerns.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based therapy and a preferred treatment for depression, anxiety, insomnia, anger, stress and many other emotional and mental health issues. I have been particularly influenced by the teachings and works of Albert Ellis, PhD and his model of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I received my training in REBT at the Albert Ellis Institute in New York City. I work with my clients to help them identify and utilize tools for dealing with current problems and assist them in finding healthier and more effective ways of thinking, feeling and responding to the events that happen in their lives.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) to treat those who are struggling with Chronic Insomnia Disorder and other sleep related concerns. I have received specialized training in CBT-I from some of the leading experts in Behavioral Sleep Medicine.
